VOTING TERMS & CONDITIONS
By participating in the competition and by voting, you agree to and accept these terms and conditions.
The terms and conditions are valid and binding upon all the voters.
WHY VOTE?
Voting by the public has been set-up by sub-contractors on behalf of the Centrum® Guardian Project, which is sponsored by Pfizer Laboratories (Pty) Ltd, South Africa (“Pfizer”) to enable the public to vote for their favourite guardian that they want to win the competition.
The winning guardian’s base station will receive a R50 000 grant from the Centrum® Guardian Project
(of which R20 000 is sponsored by Enkosi Agency). In addition, for every unique vote received, the Centrum® Guardian Project will donate R1 to the base station of the voter’s favourite guardian. This donation will be made towards the upliftment of personnel working conditions at the base station.
WHO?
The voting is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents 18 years or older. Any persons under the age of 18 must obtain parent/guardian permission for voting. The Competition is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents, except directors, members, employees, agents, prize sponsors, consultants or contractors of Pfizer or any person directly or indirectly involved in the organisation, operation or conduct of the Competition, or their immediate family members. “Immediate family members” means spouse, ex-spouse, parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, natural or adopted child, natural or adopted grandchildren and sibling or step-sibling (whether natural or adopted by a parent).
HOW?
The public may vote:
Online at www.centrumguardian.com, by following the prompts to the Competition entry page and providing the requested details including their cellular phone number. There is no charge for submitting a website vote.
OR
Via SMS by texting the keyword of your favourite Guardian to 34488. Each SMS vote will be charged at standard rates per SMS.
SMS and e-mail votes will be limited to 10 votes per cellular phone number and e-mail address.

WHEN?
Voting opens at 00h00 on 1 July 2011 and closes at 24h00 on 20 August 2011.
Votes made or received outside of these times will not be counted but SMS’s will be charged.
RULES:
Pfizer reserves the right to change the voting rules at any time, and may suspend, withdraw or re-set voting at its sole discretion.
Pfizer reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of votes and voters (including a voter’s identity and age) and to disqualify any voter who submits a vote that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the voting process.
Pfizer may, in its sole discretion, ban any person who breaches any of the terms and conditions of the voting from entering into any other Pfizer competitions, for a period deemed appropriate by Pfizer. All information relating to the Competition and communicated by SMS or email forms part of these terms and conditions.
After the voting has closed, the result of the vote will be established from all votes received.
Late votes, or votes not received by the time the result is calculated will not be counted but SMS votes will be charged.
Pfizer and its employees, agents and sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure of malfunction or any other problem with any mobile network, system, server, provider, software or otherwise which may result in any vote being lost of not properly received, registered or recorded or not being received on or before closing time.
Pfizer (including its directors, officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the voting, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under Pfizer’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any vote that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected due to any reason whatsoever; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these terms and conditions; or (e) use of a prize/grant.
Pfizer will not have a say in the outcome of the vote. For purposes of determining the overall winner of the project, the Public Vote received shall account for 100% of the final result. The winner selection is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Pfizer, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to alter any of the terms and conditions or prizes of this Competition. Any alteration of the terms and conditions or cash prizes shall be communicated to the public and shall become effective immediately after being altered and communicated or on such date as may be determined by Pfizer. Voters shall have no recourse whatsoever against Pfizer as a result of the alterations of the terms and conditions.
Pfizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel the voting competition at any time without notice, if deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside of its control. If the voting is cancelled in accordance with this clause, the voters hereby waive any rights, which they may have against Pfizer and hereby acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever for any losses or damage howsoever caused.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by South African law and do not restrict your statutory rights as a consumer.
