For our pilot campaign we selected five regional finalists throughout the greater Gauteng area, who were nominated by their colleagues for amazing acts of bravery and going beyond the call of duty to save the lives of others. We then introduced our Centrum Guardian finalists to the public who voted for their favourite Centrum Guardian.
All the votes were submitted via SMS and the Centrum Guardian Project website, the voters were entered into a lucky draw and they automatically stood a chance of winning R5000 for casting their vote.
The Centrum Guardian Project was won by Themba Tshemese and the the Voters Competition was won by Renee Heroldt.
- The Centrum Guardian Project took place between June/July throughout greater Gauteng.
- One of the five regional finalist stories was featured everyday on Jacaranda FM 94.2 and Kaya FM 95.9 from the 23rd of June.
- Voting opened at 18:00 on the 27th of June.
- Voting closed at 00:00 on the 9th of July.
- The winner was announced on the 11th of July between 14h00 and 17h00 on Jacaranda FM 94.2 and Kaya Fm 95.9.
